Many of these stansted hotels offer free airport parking with one nights stay. This can mean that an overnight stay works out cheaper than just buying airport parking, and it's certainly a more relaxing way to get to the airport.

For example, during the summer the cheapest parking for a 14 day holiday costs from £95. Yet a double room at one of the stansted hotels costs from £79 (and £60 - £70 in less busy times). So, an overnight stay and a relaxing 10 minute journey to the airport can cost the same, or even less than airport parking.

If you want 'on airport' stansted hotels it's a choice of three - the stansted airport Hilton hotel, the Radisson SAS and the Express Holiday Inn. Depending on demand you can get a good deal (you'll pay between £99 - £140 for a double room or a family room), but you'll often be better off selecting a smaller stansted hotel or guest house slightly further away (that is set up to cater for holiday parking - which is important).

Holiday Extras (click on the name to jump to the website) offer a choice of up to 6 stansted hotels at discounted rates either at or near Stansted Airport.

Their rates range from £79 for one night in a double room at a budget hotel (including 15 days parking) to between £99 and £140 for one night at the stansted airport Hilton hotel (again including 15 days parking).

Another website to check for hotels near Stansted Airport is FHR hotels. They have a slightly less choice of than holidayextras (usually 3 or 4 hotels though) but often keener prices. If you want a family room this may need to be confirmed offline, but they offer stansted hotels at really good rates - such as single rooms at the Bushel and Sack for £65.

Superbreak hotels - superbreak offer a good choice of stansted hotels, usually 4 or 5 hotels, including some not offered by the airport hotels companies. They also offer a wider choice of room types. But note that Superbreak quote prices on a per person basis not per room.

Active hotels - (this link takes you directly to their stansted airport hotels page) offer a wide choice of stansted hotels, some of which include free airport parking (unfortunately, you need to go to the individual hotel pages to find this out). Make sure you keep an eye on the 'distance from the airport' column though, as they list some hotels that are quite a way from the airport.

Also (for both active hotels and superbreak) if you want a stansted hotel room including free parking make sure it's included in the hotel description. If it's not in the description then it's not included.

We recommend that you search for stansted hotels in the following order:

Holiday Extras (widest choice) then APH hotels (cheapest prices) then FHR hotels (good prices) then Superbreak hotels and Active hotels (hotels not offered by the other 3) then book!
